National Dex
Have over sixty Pokemon in your Pokedex and defeat the Elite Four. Return to Pallet Town and see the professor. He will give the National Dex to Gary and yourself. You can use it to see the data for all 386 Pokemon.
Mystery Gift option
Enter any Pokemon Mart and go to the clipboard that is by the shop keeper on the counter. Take the survey and enter in the words "LINK TOGETHER WITH ALL". The man will then alert you that you can now have access to the Mystery Gift option, after saving. To make it easier to find the word you are looking for, press Select, which will take you to A-Z mode, then select the a letter to bring up a list of words, beginning with the first letter of the word that it begins with.
Get all starters
To get all the starters (Bulbasaur,Charmander, and Squirtle), you will need two Game Boy Advances and another Pokemon GBA game. Start with Bulbasaur, then trade it to your other Pokemon game. After that, start a new game. Start with Charmander and trade it. Then, start another new game and start with Squirtle. Keep Squirtle and catch two Pokemon that you do not want. Trade them for the other two starters you traded to your other Pokemon game. You will now have all three starters. Additionally, choose Bulbasaur Trade it to a friend. Start a new game, then choose Squirtle. Trade it to the same friend. Start a new game and choose Charmander. Trade it to the same friend. Catch four Rattata and one Pidgey. Trade three Rattata for Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander with the same friend. You now have five Pokemon (Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, Rattata, and Pidgey).
Aerodactyl
To get the ancient Pokemon Aerodactyl, go to the house to the right of the Museum in Pewter City. Note: You must have Cut. Talk to the scientist and he will give you the Old Amber. Take it to the Lab on Cinnabar Island and let the scientist bring it back to life. It will be at level 5.
Articuno
Surf south from Fuschia until you hit a barrier. Then, Surf west to the Seafoam Islands. When you see boulders, push them into the pits to reach the legendary bird Articuno.
Recommended moves for Beedrill
First, catch a Weedle . Then, train it until it turns into a Beedrill. Teach it the TM Aerial Ace . Train it (use it at gyms that use Grass/Bug Pokemon ) until it is at level 50. It should know the move Endeavor. Use it at tight spots.
Deoxys
To obtain Deoxys, you must travel to Island 9 and push the triangle forward. To do this, you need to obtain the Aurora Ticket, which can only obtained through a Nintendo Event, such as Pokemon Rocks America 2004. Bring your Pokemon Fire Red or Leaf Green cartridge to any of the events in Atlanta, Minneapolis, or Seattle to receive the Aurora Ticket. The same goes for obtaining Lugia, Ho-Oh (both on Island 8, requiring Mystery Pass); and Celebi and Mew (details unknown). Note: Ho-Oh can also be obtained via a link to Pokemon Coliseum. In the Pokemon Fire Red, you will get the attack version of Deoxys.
Dragonite
Use the following trick to develop a strong Dragonite. Get a Dratini and evolve it to Dragonair. It must be a Dratini to be at its strongest. Then teach it Flarethrower, for Ice and Steel; Ice Beam, for Dragons; Outrage, because it is strong; and Hyper Beam to make it look right.
Gyrados
Gyarados will learn Hyper Beam at level 55.
Ledyba
Ledyba can be found in Pattern Bush on Six Island.
Mewtwo
Mewtwo is in the Cerulean Cave. There are also level 39 to 68 Pokemon there, such as Wobbofet and Magneton.
Misdreaveus
Found in the Lost Cave.
Moltres
Moltres can only be found at the top of Mt. Ember at Island 1. You will need to defeat Blamie first.
Rattata
Found on Route 1.
Remoraid
Found in the water by Memorial Pillar on Five Island.
Sneasal
Found in Icefall Cave on Four Island.
Spinerak
Found at pattern bush on Six Island.
Yanma
Found in grassy areas where dotted hole is on Six Island.
Zapdos
To catch a Zapdos, go to the Pokemon Center beside the Rock Cave. From the Pokemon Center, go up until you reach water. Surf to the Power Plant and go inside. Find your way around, and at the end you will find Zapdos, the Thunder type Legendary Bird.
Legendary Dogs
The legendary dog that you get in the game depends on your starter:
Charmander: Suicune (Water)
Squirtle: Raikou (Thunder)
Bulbasaur: Entei (Fire)
To get all three Legendary Dogs, get together with two friends before any of you start the game. Have one player get Charmander, another get Squirtle, and the other get Bulbasaur. Each of you will get one of the legendary dogs: Charmander, Suicune; Squirtle, Raikou; and Bulbasaur, Entei. Once each of you has their own dog, trade one dog for another. For example, player one's Suicune for player two's Entei; player three's Raikou for player one's Entei; and Player three's Raikou for player two's Suicune. Additionally, use the following trick to easily catch Suicune, Raikou, or Entei without a Master Ball. Get a Pokemon the learns the move Mean Look or something similar, or get a Pokemon with the Arena Trap or Shadow Tag abilities to prevent them from escaping. If they do, you will get another chance to catch them, providing you do not make them faint.
Johto Pokemon
To get your first Pokemon from the Johto Region, defeat the Elite Four. Go to Island 3, then go in the tunnel. Talk to the man and he will give you a Nugget. Go out the door, and there will be a small patch of grass. Walk around in it, and you will find your first Johto Pokemon.
Duplicate Pokemon
Use the following trick to easily reproduce rare Pokemon, such as Charizard, Lapras, etc. Capture a Ditto in Pokemon Fire Red or Leaf Green. These can be found in the cave at Cerulean. Transfer your Ditto to Pokemon Sapphire or Ruby, then take it to the Daycare couple in Mauville and leave it there. The quickest way to get an egg is to cycle back and forth a few times in front of the Daycare Center until the old man comes out of the gate. The egg he gives you will hatch into the first evolution of whatever Pokemon you put into the daycare. For example, a Charizard will give you a Charmander. Trade with friends to get the other starters, breed an egg, then trade back. The hatched Pokemon will have you as the original trainer. Some Pokemon will not breed in this way, even though they have a gender (such as Latios and Latias).
Exp. Share
At Route 15 inside the big place, go upstairs talk to Professor Aid. If you have collected at least fifty Pokemon, he will give you the Exp. Share. The pokemon holding this item will gain the exact same number of experience points. For example, if Magikarp is holding it it and your Charizard just went up to level 59 and the experience was 496, then Magikarp will gain exactly 496 points.
HM SURF
Go to the Safari Zone then go all the way up and to your left. Enter the house and talk to woman. You will win the Grand Prize, SURF.
Master Ball
The Master Ball can only be located by saving the president that is in Saffron City, by defeating the leader of Team Rocket. After defeating him, talk to the president. He will give you the Master Ball. It will catch any Pokemon without fail.
Nuggets
Go to the last person (Team Rocket member) on Nugget Bridge. Lose to that person after you get the Nugget. Repeat this until you have the desired number of Nuggets. Note: If you save the your game after defeating him, you will no longer be able to do this.
Repel and Super Repel
Repel and Super Repel will keep all wild Pokemon of a lower level than the first Pokemon in your party from attacking. However, if the wild Pokemon is of the same level or higher, it will attack. Due to the decreased amount of Pokemon to fight, you will have less random encounters. To exploit the use of this, go to a cave with high level Pokemon such as at Victory Road or Union Cave. Use the Repel once inside. Find a boxed-in type of corner and tap the D-pad gently towards a wall. If done correctly, you will not hear a bumping sound. Doing this should not reduce the number of steps remaining on you Repel counter, because the Repel only counts movement that causes the character to take a step not turning. Just turn into a wall to make it easier for beginners. This trick is useful because you are always facing a Pokemon that is of equal or greater level, allowing you to get levels much faster than usual.
Running Shoes
Follow through Viridian Forest, go to Brock (the first gym leader), and defeat him. Brock has three Pokemon: Geodude level12, Onix level 14, and Geodude level 11. Then, go to the path that leads to Mount Moon's base. Try to go past the man standing slightly past the entrance. He should stop you. He is Professor Oak's assistant. After talking to him, he will give you the Running Shoes. Additionally, your aide will give you the Running Shoes after the first gym.
Sacred Ash
Go to the Naval Rock Island (if you have the Mystic Ticket), and to the location where Ho-oh confronted you. Use the Itemfinder and it will automatically dig up the Sacred Ash, just like the Macho Brace at Viridian Gym after Giovanni left; and the Top from Pokemon Tower after Mr. Fugi left.
Silph Scope
Go to the underground path in Lavender Town and it will lead you to Celadon City. Then, go to the Rocket Game Corner. There will be a grunt looking at a poster. Defeat him, then select the poster.
Easy money
To get easy money, use a Meowth with the Pay Day attack in wild or trainer battles.
Finding Selphy
In the Lost Cave, start from the beginning and go right, up, down, down, right, left, down, and right. When she sees you, she will fight with two level 49 Persians. Afterwards you will go to her house and ask to see a Pokemon (Arkanine).
Determining Pokemon's feelings towards you
When you use an item on one of your Pokemon outside of a battle, such as a Potion, the Pokemon will either move closer or away from you in the short intermission sequence. How far the Pokemon moves depends on how much it likes you. If it does not move at all, it feels neutral.
Trainer name comment
At the Pokemon Trainer Fan Club in Saffron City, the blonde man in the back will mention the last person you battled in real life. For example, if you battle a friend who named their character "Dusty", he will say, "Dusty's cool, huh? I love the way he talks. I'd really relish a chance to meet him in person once."
More than one attempt when catching a Legendary Pokemon
When you are close to a Legendary Pokemon and want to catch it, save the game just before you battle it. If you accidentally make it faint, Just reset the game and try again.
Get to One Island
To Get to One Island, defeat the Cinnabar Island Gym Leader, Blaine. When you come out, Bill will take you to One Island and give you the Tri-Pass. This will allow you to return at any time by taking the Pass to the boat dock in Vermilion City.
Getting to Saffron City
Go to the Celedon Department Store. Buy all three drinks on the sixth floor. The guard will not let you win. In order to get in go to the Mansion that is next a man talking about hot tea, go to the Right side of the Mansion. Enter, then talk to the old lady. She will give you the Tea, and you can now enter Saffron City.
This trick requires two Game Boy Advances, a link cable, a Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire game with a "Fresh Water" in the pack, and a Pokemon Fire Red or Leaf Green game that is completed and able to trade with Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire. Also, you will need another Pokemon Fire Red or Leaf Green cartridge. Give a Pokemon a Fresh Water. Trade the Pokemon from Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire to the completed Pokemon Fire Red or Leaf Green game. Take the Fresh Water and attach it to a Pokemon not from Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire. Trade it to the other Pokemon Fire Red or Leaf Green game. Give the Fresh Water to the guard. You can now access Saffron City easier. You can also do the same thing without the Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire cartrigde. Also, it works better when you have the completed cartridge and your friend has the unfinished game.
Safari Zone
When you get in the Safari Zone you will need to pay 500 to enter and will receive 30 Safari Balls. You cannot use any Pokemon. All you can use is Ball, Bait, Rock, or Run. Ball is to catch the Pokemon, Bait is to give the Pokemon food, and Rock is to throw a rock make a Pokemon angry. However, they will not use an attack on you.
Infinite Safari Zone time
Enter the Safari Zone, then walk into an area and stop in the grass Then, tap the D-pad, but do not move You will find the Pokemon in that area without wasting steps.
Find one location in the Safari Zone that suits you. Then, just rotate in place. Random Pokemon should you attack you every few rotations.
Go into a patch of grass in the Safari Zone with a Pokemon (like Oddish) that has Sweet Scent. When you use Sweet Scent, you will get attacked by wild Pokemon without having to move. Keep doing this until you find a Pokemon that you want.

The Safari Zone is located to the north of Fuchsia City. The following are items you can find:

Defeating Blamie
In order to battle Blamie the Fire Pokemon trainer (seventh gym leader at Cinnabar Island), you will need the secret key that is found inside the Pokemon Mansion that will open the door. You should have any Pokemon that are strong enough to withstand Fire attacks such as Flamethrower, Overheat, Firespin, Fire Blast, Flame Wheel, and Ember. Get Water pokemon and teach them Surf any and attaks that will cause poison, confusion, and other statuses to win the battle.

The seven gyms are the Battle Tube, Battle Dome, Battle Factory, Battle Arena, Battle Palace, Battle Pyramid, and Battle Tower. Each gym has two badges to collect.

Southern Island is where you get the opposite bird. If you chose Latios, you will find Latias here and vice versa. You need the Eon Ticket to have access to this island.
Johto starters
When you complete the full 202 Pokemon of Hoenn, Professor Birch will call you on your Pokenav and say that he wants to give you a surprise. You can now choose one of the three Johto starters (Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile).
Original starters
Win the Battle Frontier completely (Gold and Silver) and talk to Birch. He will give you one of your choice.

Note: If you are going to battle him, you can defeat him with Water, Ice (for Cradily), and Fire types for most of his Pokemon. He has Pokemon over level 70. After you defeat him, go to his house in Mossdeep to get the Beldum.
Castform
Defeat the rival team at the Weather Institute.
Deoxys
Like previous games, Deoxys has its own form in this game. It is the Speed form. It can only be found on Birth Island. The Aurora Ticket is required.
Ditto
You can catch Ditto, but only after you defeat the Elite Four. Go to the Desert Underpass. It is only in the middle.
Groudon
Go back to the weather institute. Talk to the man again. He will tell you where Groudon is found. You might need HM03 Surf. Go to the route where he is and go inside. You will find Groudon in the Terra cave.
Ho-oh and Lugia
Get the Mystic Ticket, then go to Navel Island.
Jirachi
To get Jirachi, you need a GameCube and the pre-order version of Pokemon Colosseum. Then, trade it to Pokemon Emerald.
Kyogre
Defeat the Elite Four, then go back to the weather institute. This is where you got Castform. Go upstairs to a researcher who studies patters of weather. He will tell you where Kyogre is found. You need HM03 Surf and HM07 Dive. Surf on the route you are supposed to until you find a location to dive. Once you get to Kyogre in the Marine cave, get in front of him. Use Net Balls on him.
Latios or Latias
After defeating the Elite Four, watch the television downstairs in your house. Mix your records with a Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire with the Eon Ticket. Then, go to Southern Island.

Regice
The cave of Regice is northwest of Dewford island. There is Braille in the back of the cave of Regice. The statement reads "Stay close to the wall. Run around the lap." You must run around the room once while staying close to the wall. Once you reach the middle of the Braille again, the door will open and the battle with the icy titan will begin when you go through the door and press A next to it.
Regirock
To find the cave of the rock titan Regirock, you must have the Go-Goggles so that you may enter the desert. Once in the desert, go south to the bottom and enter the cave. In the back you will see the Braille in the back. Go to the back of the room and read it. The message translated reads "Left, Left, Down, Down. Then use Rock Smash." From the middle of the Braille on the wall move left, left, down, and down. Go with a Pokemon that knows Rock Smash and use it. The cave door will open. Save the game, then start the battle with Regirock. Note: Bring a lot of Ultra Balls.
Registeel
To find the cave of Registeel, go to Lilycove City. Go west through the grass and trainers. When you reach the area of the Safari Zone, keep moving. You will reach a place with a girl. Just above her are stairs. You must go up. Go through the very tall grass and go up the stairs behind it. The cave will not be too far after the stairs. Once inside, read the Braille at the back of the room. It reads "Those who inherit our will, shine in the middle." The riddle means that you should go to the middle of the room and use Flash. The cave door will open. Be careful with Registeel. This Pokemon is more difficult than the others to capture. Try bringing a lot of Ultra Balls or prolong the battle as long as you can by freezing it or putting it to sleep. After many turns the Timer Ball will have gained a lot of strength, and it might work against the Registeel.
Smargle
Once you have defeated the Elite Four with all Pokemon with your ID code, you can go to the Battle Frontier. Once here, go to the southeastern-most side of the area. There should be a tree that looks odd. Use the Wailmer Pail to water it. Soodoo Woodoo should attack. Catch it, run, or kill it. Then, use Surf on the water where Soodoo Woodoo was located. Go down the waterfall and go to the left. There should be a cave. In the cave is a Smargle. It knows one attack, Sketch. Sketch allows it to copy the last move that someone uses against it. Once you have obtained one move for Smargle, go to the move tutor and teach him Sketch again. Then, go to a double battle and use Smargle and the Pokemon that has the move you want him to learn. He can learn anything mine knows Strength, Hyper Beam, Outrage, and Thunder. repeat the step with the move tutor and he can learn any move.
Sudowoodo

The Claw or Root Fossil will be there. Additionally, go to the desert between Falabor and Lavaridge Town. Find Mirrage Tower and enter it with the Mach Bike. Go up and get past the cracks with the Mach Bike. At the top, you will find two fossils. Do not bother thinking about which one to choose, because you will eventually also get the other one. You must have Waillord first in your party and Relicanth last. Then, read the Braille. The ground will shake and the caves will now be open. One is in the desert and the other is in the water in near Deleford Town.
Safari Zone
The Safari Zone is the same as the one in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. The only difference is that after you defeat the Elite Four, two more areas appear full of Johto Pokemon that you could not get in any other games (besides Pokemon Colosseum).
Team Magma's hideout
To get to Team Magma's hideout, you must first get the Magma Emblem. Then, go to Mt. Pyre. Go through jagged pass until the screen shakes, and an opening will appear. This is where Team Magma's hideout is located. Note: Do not go to Team Aqua's hideout first.
Water Institute
The Water Institute is where you received Castform from that building.
Blue or Red Tent for secret base
Go to Route 110. Go to the Trick Master's house and complete every challenge. This requires Cut and Strength HM. After that, he will say he that needs to travel. He will give you a Red Tent or Blue Tent.
Stronger Rollout move
When you have a Pokemon with Rollout, using the move Defense Curl before using Rollout will boost the attack of Rollout by X1. For example, Marill will learn Defense Curl at level 3, then will learn Rollout at level 15.
Gender change
During a Multi Battle at Battle Tower, pay attention to your ally's Pokemon. Occasionally, your partner's Pokemon will change genders between battles.
Easy experience
Attach EXP Share. Put the Pokemon you want to gain experience in front of party, then fight someone. When the battle starts, switch it out for a better Pokemon. Additionally, at the start of the game, train your starter in the grasses from Littleroot Town to where you fight your rival for your first time.
Fight the Elite Four three times a day. Fight all of the trainers that have a Poke thing next to their name. Fight all of the gym leaders again.
Defeating the Pike Queen
The Battle Pike is at the Siviper by the Pokemon Center on the left. When you defeat it at open level or level 50, the lady who tells you directions will say that a horrible fate is about to befall you. When you go into a room. she might heal one or two of your Pokemon. You will then battle the Pike Queen. Note: She will have Siviper, Shuckle and Milotic. Try using a Psychic Pokemon such as Alakazam, with Psychic and Thunderpunch. Additionally, get a Houndoom at level 50 give it the moves Flamethrower, Taunt, Double-Edge, and Faint attack. Then, get a Ampharos with Thunderbolt, Strength, Mega Punch, and Dynamic Punch. Get a Quassire with Surf, Earthquake, Ice Beam, and Slam. All the first forms of the three Pokemon are found in the Safari Zone after the Pokemon League. First, use Houndoom's Flamethrower two times on Seviper. Be wary of Seviper's move Swagger. Then, switch Houndoom with Ampharos, because the next pokemon is Milotic (a Water type). Use Thunderbolt until it faints. Her last Pokemon is Shuckle. The Pokemon has no attack moves. It has Rest and Toxic. Bring out Houndoom and first use Taunt and Flamethrower. Use Taunt after Flamethrower, then repeat that in a pattern until it faints. If you use Taunt, Shuckle uses Struggle. You will then probably get the Luck Symbol.
Defeating the Elite Four
Take a normal level Pokemon with a one hit K.O. move and a lock on move. Also have a large number of Ethers and Max Potions. Just lock on and attack for and easy K.O.

Pokemon: Fire Red
Strategy Guide
Message Boards
National Dex
Have over sixty Pokemon in your Pokedex and defeat the Elite Four. Return to Pallet Town and see the professor. He will give the National Dex to Gary and yourself. You can use it to see the data for all 386 Pokemon.
Network Machine
This allows you to trade to Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Fix the Network Machine on One Island. To do this, get the Sapphire and Ruby items and take them to the machine.
Lapras
On the Island 4, go to where you met Lorelli of the Elite Four. Then, Surf on the water . If you are lucky, you will see a wild Lapras.
Ledyba
Ledyba can be found in Pattern Bush on Six Island.
Mewtwo
Defeat the Elite Four, then go to the Cerulean City Cave. Mewtwo will be there. You will need HM6 Rock Smash and HM3 Surf.
Moltres
To get Moltres you need HM4 Strength, HM6 Rock Smash, and HM3 Surf. Go to One Island, and all the way to the right until you reach water. Surf to the north and you will see land. Continue to go north until you hit water again. Then, Surf north again until you reach land. Go up and move the boulders. Continue to go up and you will enter Mt. Ember. Pass the mountain and you will see more boulders up ahead. Move them and you will encounter Moltres, the Legendary Fire Bird Pokemon.
Note: This trick will only work on Pokemon that have a gender. Either male or female will do. For example, if you want a friend's Charizard but you do not want to trade a level 100 male Venusaur for it, catch a Ditto on Route 13 to 15. Take both your Venusaur and Ditto to 4 Island to the old couple and breed them. The next morning you will have a Bulbasaur egg ready to trade. This can be used to get all the evolutions of Evee. Note: This trick will not work on Mewtwo or most of the legendary Pokemon.
Easy money
To get easy money, use a Meowth with the Pay Day attack in wild or trainer battles.
New moves
There are four new moves not found in earlier Pokemon games:
Blast Burn (Fire): Power: 120, Accuracy: 100, leaves the user immobile the next turn.
Hydro Cannon (Water): Power: 120, Accuracy: 100, leaves the user immobile the next turn.
Frenzy Plant (Grass): Power: 120, Accuracy: 100, leaves the user immobile the next turn.
Volt Tackle (Thunder): Power: 120, Accuracy:100, slightly hurts the user.
To get the new moves, you must go to the woman's house on Cape Brink on Island Two and talk to her. If your starter is Charmeleon, you will get Bast Burn; Squirtle is Hydro Cannon; and Bulbusaur is Frenzy Plant. To get Volt Tackle, you must use an electric Pokemon. You must have the Pokemon first in your party.
Poison Sting
The Poison Sting attack can always poison if you press and release A at the exact time.. Time it by looking at one of the bubbles. For example, fight a Mankey. The one that crosses the hand to the left of the screen is the one to time it by, by pressing A just as it starts to pass the hand and releasing it just as it pops. It always poisons the enemy. This works for all Pokemon with the Poison Sting ability against all enemies, except for Bug types. Also, the Constrict attack can always get criticals if you press and release A twice while the vines are pulsating.
Berries
Find a black mark in the grass, then go up to it and press A. Note: This will not work with items such as Big Pearl, Stardust, and Rare Candies.
Black Belt
After you get to One Island, travel up the path called Kindle Road and go towards the volcano. Along this route, you will encounter several trainers with Fighting-type Pokemon. Have your Pokemon use Thief to steal a Black Belt from each of the Pokemon. After you have a Black Belt, take it off your Pokemon and use the VS Seeker to fight the opponent again. Steal another Black Belt from his other Pokemon. Every Fighting-type on this route is equipped with a Black Belt, which boosts the power of all Fighting-type moves.
Nuggets
Go to the last person (Team Rocket member) on Nugget Bridge. Lose to that person after you get the Nugget. Repeat this until you have the desired number of Nuggets. Note: If you save the your game after defeating him, you will no longer be able to do this.
Rare Candy
To get more Rare Candies, look for some Meowths. You are 30% likely to get one.
Fugi left.
Thunderstone
In the Power Station, in the room with Zapdos, use your Itemfinder to locate an item in that area. You should find a Thunderstone.
Silph Co.
Go to the fifth floor. Then, go right until you reach a wall. You will see a Team Rocket grunt. Do not go in front of him. Instead, go all the way up so he must walk to fight you. Make sure that when he walks up, he makes it so you can walk past him after you defeat him. An easy way to defeat him is to use Water type Pokemon with Surf, After defeating him, go behind him down the narrow path, then turn. You will see a Pokeball. It has the Card Key, which is the item that you need to open doors. Go back out and down to level three. Go left until you see a locked room that has a portal in it. It also has a locked room behind it as well. Go into the first locked room and use the warp. Make sure you have some strong Pokemon to battle your rival. Defeat him, then talk to the man standing against the left wall. He will heal you and give you Lapris. Then, go through the other portal (not the one you came from, but other on on the other side of the table). Defeat the Team Rocket grunt, then defeat the Team Rocket Boss. Next, talk to the owner of Silph Co. He will give you the Master Ball. You now can fight Gym Leader Sabrina.
Get to One Island
To Get to One Island, defeat the Cinnabar Island Gym Leader, Blaine. When you come out, Bill will take you to One Island and give you the Tri-Pass. This will allow you to return at any time by taking the Pass to the boat dock in Vermilion City.
Get to Saffron City
Unlike in Pokemon Red and Blue, to get into Saffron City, you do not give the guard a Fresh Water. You must go to Celadon City then enter the Game Freak building. Inside is an old woman with Pokemon around her It is the building above the Game Corner. Once there, talk to the old lady. She gives you some "tea", which you can then give to the guard. All the guards will now let you go into Saffron City. Remember to get the powerful TM 29 Psychic in Mr. Psychic's house (in the bottom far left house of the city). Also, your Pokemon should at least level 38 or higher when attempting to battle Sabrina.
Get to Saffron City earlier
Navigate through the lost cave on Island 5
Move right, up, down, down, right, left, down, right, up and you will arrive at your destination. Note: You can go different ways, but you will end up either finding an item or going back to the start.
Get to Sabrina without battling any trainers
This is a long process, but it is the easiest way. Go into the first square, then go up, down, down, up, down, up, up, down, down, up, up, up, down, then down and you will be there.
Catching Safari Zone Pokemon
When you encounter a Safari Zone Pokemon, throw a rock at it. If it does not flee, use a safari ball. You should be able to catch it about 85% of the time.
Easy slot machine wins in Celedon City
Use the slot machine at Celdadon City that is at the top in the row you face when you enter. It seems to be easier to get triple sevens if you can time it correctly.
Naval Rock
When you first go in, just go straight until you hit a wall. If you want to get Lugia first, go to the right. If you want Ho-oh first, go to the left. It really does not matter, because you can get both. They will both appear at level 70.
Vs. Seeker
Go to the Vermilion Pokemon Center and talk to the girl closest to Nurse Joy.
More than one attempt when catching a Legendary Pokemon
When you are close to a Legendary Pokemon and want to catch it, save the game just before you battle it. If you accidentally make it faint, Just reset the game and try again.
Answers to Blaine's questions
The answers, in order are: yes, no, no, no, yes, and no.
In-game reset
While playing the game, press A + B + Start + Select.
Recommended starter
Choose a starter Pokemon (Bulbasaur recommended), then battle your rival. After you reach One Island, make sure you have two Fire Pokemon. This depends on your starter Pokemon. Also, make sure that one is highly trained, so it has at least one strong attack. Also, make sure this Pokemon is a male. Then, put them in the daycare. When they find an egg, take it. Then, train this Pokemon to a high level (just high enough to defeat your rival).
Defeating Bruno
After you have already conquered the Elite Four, use a strong Fire and Flying type and you will win. One strong attack from a Charizard, such as Fire Blast will be able to obliterate both Steelix with one hit. Hitmonlee can be defeated from one Fly (HM Tech) attack. Hitmonchan can be defeated with a Fly attack, followed by a quick Wing Attack.
Defeating the Elite Four
After you defeat the Elite Four and you give Celio the Ruby and Sapphire Plate (on the seven islands), you can re-challenge the Elite Four. Their Pokemon are now changed and become much more stronger than the first time you challenged them. Here are the combinations:
Lorelei: Dewgong level 64, Cloyster level 63, Piloswine level 64 (replaced Slowbro), Jynx, and Lapras level 66.
Bruno: Steelix level 63, Steelix level 66, Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee level 65, Machamp level 68 (his 2 Onix have evolved).
Agatha: Gengar level 66, Crobat level 66, Arbok level 68, Misdreavus level 65 (replaced Haunter), Gengar level 70 (her Golbat has evolved).
Lance: Gyarados level 68, Kingdra level 66, Aerodactyl level 70, Dragonite level 66, Dragonite level 72 (one of his Dragonair evolved, and the other was replaced by Kingdra).
Rival: Heracross level 71, Alakazam level 69, Tyranitar level 72, and depending on who you chose at the start;
If you have Bulbasaur: Gyarados level 71, Exeggutor level 73, Charizard level 75.
If you have Squirtle: Gyarados level 73, Arcanine level 71, Venusaur level 75.
If you have Charmander:Exeggutor level 73, Arcanine level 71, Blastoise level 75.
For Lorelei, you need a level 60 or higher Electric type with like Thunder or Thunderbolt. Watch out; her Piloswine is also a Ground type and is immune to Electricity. Use Water type or Fighting. Bruno is very easy to defeat if you have a very good Water type for the Steelixes and a level 53 or higher Alakazam or Kadabra; or a very strong Psychic type. Agatha is tough because of her speedy Pokemon. If you have an Alakazam and it is at least level 58 or higher, then you will have no problems. If not, try using a strong Steel type. Lance is annoying because he now has a Kingdra, which is not really affected by Ice types because of its Water type. Use a tough Electric type. The rest are easily dispatched by an Ice Beam or Blizzard. Your Rival is difficult. His Heracross has good speed, but flying attacks kill it because of his double weakness. His Alakazam can be defeated by a good Hyper Beam or even Strength because it lacks defense (not special defense). His Exeggutor or Gyarados are poor, but his Arcanine is strong -- do not underestimate him. The real problems are his Tyrannitar and the starter. Tyrannitar is good in every stat, and he is a Dark type which makes him unaffected by Psychic types. He is also a Rock type, so use Razor Leaf or Surf. The starter is tough, and is not easily dispatched.
Defeating Giovanni
An easy way to defeat Giovanni in all battles is to use a Water Pokemon with Surf on all his Pokemon.
Defeating Sabrina
Buy a Poke Doll from the department store in Celadon City. Then, go to the top left house in Saffron City and go upstairs. Talk to the girl and she will teach one of your Pokemon Mimic. Go to the gym and begin your battle against Sabrina. Once she uses a Psychic move with one of her Pokemon, Mimic it and you will have it for the rest of the battle.

Pokemon Contest
In Pokemon Contest houses, you may enter your Pokemon into a contest for a chance to win a medal. However if you enter without any Porok level ups, you will have a very low chance of winning. The way to raise this is to go out and find the trees with berries on them, then press A. You will then receive 1 to 4 berries. If you now go to a Pokemon House, you will see small gray machines on the right. The empty one on the top is for multi-player. For now, find a house in a city that only has a man at the bottom. Go to the other side of the machine and press A. You will then be asked to pick a Porok (berry) and throw it in. The spinner will come down and start moving. The objective is to press A just when the spinner hits your arrow:
Circle Within A Circle: Direct hit (much faster)
Circle: Near hit (slightly faster)
X: Miss (slower)
The faster you (and your opponent) get the spinner moving, the better. Once the meter at the top hits the end, it is over and the results and the fastest RPM the spinner was moving will appear. You will then receive a Blended Porok. The level of it depends on how fast you got the machine going. The average appears to be 11. Next, open your Special Items Pocket and go to your "Pez dispenser" type item (which you must have to play the game -- it is obtained from the girl in the first contest house). You will then pick a Blended Porok and feed it to a pet, making one of his Pokemon Contest stats (viewable in the Poke-Navi) go up. Some can even raise multiple stats. The more you do this, the better chance you have of winning.
Recommended starting Pokemon
The best type of starting Pokemon (in order) are: Water, Grass, and Fire. Torchic proves to be the best as you get farther in the game, but proves to be difficult in the beginning. Mudkip is strong in the beginning, but weaker against the Elite Four. Mudkip is a good choice if playing Pokemon Ruby. Treeko is somewhat neutral, but is best to choose if playing Pokemon Sapphire because of Team Aqua.
Recommended moves for Blaziken or Cumbusken
If you have a Combusken or Blaziken, the best moves for it are Ember (can replace with Flare Kick if desired), Double Kick, and since it is able to learn a Bird type move, Steel Wing or any other powerful TM flying based move. Also give it an HM (preferably Cut).
Regis
Use the following steps to capture the three mysterious Pokemon called the Regis. Go to the southeast part of Route 134 and dive into the water. It is difficult to get to due to the currents, and it is the only deep part of that route. You will find a cave. At a part of the cave, there are some Brail writing on the wall. At that point, float to the top of the water, where you will end up in a cavern. Go into the last room by going forward, use Dig, and in the next room you must do something strange. Put a Relicanth in the front of your party, and a Wailord at the last place. Walk to the top of the room and read the Brail . You will trigger an earthquake, which will unlock the Regis. You can fish up a Wailmer to evolve at level 40 at Route 122, and find a Relicanth outside Sootopolis in the underwater grass (rarely, but it is there).
To find Registeel, you can access a volcano in the southwest region of Route 120. Enter it, then move towards the center of the room. Use Fly to find Registeel.
To find Regirock, fly to lavaridge, bop down the mountain, and enter the desert. In the southern part of the desert, you will find a cavern. Enter it, then walk up to the center tile at the top of the room. Go three steps down and two steps right. Use strength to open the passage to Regirock.
To find Regice, in Route 105, there is an island on the west side that has a mountain on it. Go there, enter, and stand in front of the tile. Press A, read it, press A again, and do not do anything else. The door will open after twenty seconds, and the last Regi is yours.
You never have to use the Master Ball to catch all the legendary Pokemon. You can catch them all with about 60 Great Balls. However, you might need to use a Master Ball against the last one in the tower.
Sharpedo
Once you are able to track down Sharpedo in your Pokedex, do whatever is necessary to capture it. It is an excellent Water/Dark Pokemon that already knows Crunch, Dark's most powerful attack. His speed is incredible and will be of great use later in the game.
TM 02
In order to do this, you must Have waterfall, Surf Pokemon at least level 35. Aqua/Maga will steal the meteorite. However, there is more for the Meteor Falls. Go deep into the cave. Use Waterfall on the fall. Go through the cave and find TM 02.
TM 43
Go through the tunnel by the cable cars that lead to Mt. Chimney. Then, go right until you can go up. You will find a person looking at a sort of "pine tree". Talk to him to receive TM43 or Secret Power. You can now make secret bases.
Hidden message
After you unlock the three rare Pokemon, the Pokemon in the cave on the road after the town with the tree houses, the hidden messages is "With new time Hope and love Aim to the sky in the middle".
Premier Ball
Buy at least ten Pokeballs and you will get a free Premier Ball.
Bike wheelie
Press B on a bike to pop a wheelie. Without a bike you will run.
Bike bunny hops
Get the Acro Bike and hold B without moving the D-pad to bunny hop.
Mach Bike/Acro Bike abilities
Once you reach Mauville City, there is a building called Rydel's Cycles. Go inside and talk to Rydel. Once he learns that you have walked from Littleroot Town to Mauville City, he will give you a bike to ride. There are two bikes that you can have -- the Mach Bike and the Acro Bike. The Mach Bike can go fast, but has very bad handling. It is used for riding up sandy slopes and for speeding past crumbling floors in some caves. The Acro Bike is the one you can do tricks on. It does not go as fast as the Mach Bike, but has very good handling. You can hold B while riding to do wheelies, or stop and hold B to do little bunny hops. You can also tap B + D-pad in any direction to take little jumps. This bike is used for getting across narrow, white rails that span some rivers.
Gym tactics
First, try using Kyamome or a Water/Grass starter. Then, try Water/Fire starter Grass at level 20 to 25. Finally, try Sandshrew with lots of Ground attack. If you chose Torchick as your first Pokemon, you will soon find out that the first Gym Leader will be difficult without the proper Pokemon. When you reach the first beach area (next to the forest entrance), try to catch a Wingull. Then while in the forest, spend some time to level it up and your Torchick. Get the Wingull to at least level 10, and the Combuskin to about level 16 to 18. You can now take out the three Geodudes the Leader has with the Wingull's Water-Gun, and use the Combuskin as backup.
Defeating your Rival
When facing your rival at the start that has Treecko, use a level 6 Wurmple; Mudkip use a level 7 Silccoon or Cascoon; Torchic use a level 5 to 6 Wingull. Wingull can be found in Route 103. Wurmple can be found in Route103. To get Cascoon or Silccoon, evolve Wurmple at level 7.
Poke-Navi
This is a useful item with multiple functions:
Map: This will display a map of Houen. You can move the pointer with the D-pad and can also press A to zoom in.
Poke-Info: This will display information about your Pokemon stats. These may show how much of a chance your Pokemon has of winning a Pokemon Contest. These can be raised with Poroks (the berries).
Trainer-Dex: This will show information on all of the trainers you have fought.
Hall Of Fame: After defeating the Elite 4, you can see your Pokemon that defeated them in the Hall of Fame.
HM list
HM 01 (Cut): Cuts down small bushes. Found inside the house to the left of the Pokemon Center in Kanazumi City.
HM 02 (Fly): Can fly to cities: Found in the town with the sixth Gym.
HM 03 (Surf): Can Swim. Found in the house left of the fourth Gym.
HM 04 (Strength): Allows you to push some rocks. Found in the town with fourth Gym.
HM 05 (Flash) Lights up dark areas. Found in the cave on the island with the second Badge.
